Easter Time!

The kids left the Easter Bunny lots of carrots, and carrot cake this year. Looks like he enjoyed his little snack.

We found over 200 eggs this year. Full of candy and money. I was so glad that we got to actually hunt OUTSIDE this year. That hasn't happened for quite a few years. We had eggs everywhere! Out front, back and in every room in the house.

Ariah has asked me every single day if it is Easter time so that she can wear her dress. This morning she didn't even ask. She came to my bedside in this gettup and was ready to hunt for eggs. We do our egg hunt and basket hunt on Saturday. This is our "Bunny Day". That allows us to focus on the true meaning of Easter on Sunday. It has been so nice since we started that tradition. You know I'm always up for extending the holidays and the children can sort it in their minds very easily.

Halloween PJ's on Easter. Wow!
Cole found his basket in the shower.
Ariah's was in the closet.
...and Ambra's was in the fridge. Good thing we found them.
Sorting through the pounds and pounds of loot.

After our Easter egg and basket hunt. We ate a fun breakfast and got ready to head to the park. We played park games like baseball, and darts. Rode our bikes too. So glad we were able to play outside today.

Ambra graciously made Easter place cards for all of us. That was a fun surprise.

Easter Sunday, all ready for church.

Wow. There I am. Haven't taken too many prego pictures this time around. But I consented on this one. I look pretty silly in this apron and belly.

Preparing our non traditional Easter feast of BBQ grilled fajitas. Gotta go with the cravings if ya know what I'm sayin.

The girls told Uncle Josh that he had "girl hair". It is getting pretty long. They took their liberties and gave him several pony tails. Good sport.

We always finish the night with our Atonement Easter Hunt. This is a wonderful activity for children and takes us through the Easter story. I love that story. Easter time is such a special and meaningful time for all, and I love to ponder the atonement and reserection. Pondering the story and meaning of Easter time brings such peace to my soul and I am so grateful for that gift. We are lucky to be able to understand it and use it in our lives on a daily basis. I am lucky to be able to teach my children this and to hear them bear testimony of it in our family nights. I count my blessings daily and especially remember them at this time of year.

Happy Easter all.

Even more Eggcellent!

Oh no! Upside down monster eggs. Oh well. Yes, we did monster eggs this year. The kids had a blast with these.

The neighborhood Easter Egg Hunt is always fun. So glad we got to do it outside this year. Last year we had to hold it in the church. Ariah was my only attendee this year. Sad. My others kiddos are in school. Good thing I'm cooking another one. Wouldn't want to miss all the fun preschool activities.

We made murals on our driveway with fun chalk paints. They dried really neat - and lasted for days.

Eggcellent!

Thanks Mindie for hosting our Easter party. We had a ton of fun. Good food, friends, crafts, games and an egg hunt - can't get any better. Here is the crew. The average age here is 3, so Cole is a bit big for this group, but first grade here he comes :)

Classic bunny ear making :)

And the traditional egg dyeing. We did monster eggs this year. Can't wait to show the finished product. They turned out so fun.

Really...its gone?

What March is gone? Oh wait, April is too. Better get some blogging done. We are going to feature some random March at this point, just know April is dedicated to lots and lots of remodeling, aching pregnant back, and wishing I could just buy new stuff instead of refinishing old.

New car!! WooHoo! Loving it. Yes, I am still in the minivan club, but ya know what. I have four kids and do a lot of kid hauling. It is sooooo convenient and I really do LOVE my new style.

Intermittent spring is happening. Every so often it will be warm enough to send the kiddos outside and say, "if you decide your done outside, I will have chores awaiting." It works everytime. Love the creation Ambra built.

...and if you've got nothing to do for 4 hours, you can have a backyard campout. It takes FOREVER to cook food over fire. We did tinfoil dinners and I always think its going to be faster than it is - but its not. Thats ok. It is fun to sit out and play with the kiddos and gather round the fire. Tin foil dinners and smores. Come on summer :)

Their so tricky!!

Well the leprachauns came to our house again on St. Paddy's Day. Those tricky little suckers! They made a mess of our house - and the kids faces! Good thing they left a basket full of fun surprises for the kiddos. Ya know, if you leave a basket under the light of the moon, they are said to fill it with treasures - the only problem is they hide it!! Unbeknowest to them though, they leave a little trail of green to the hiding spot. The children anticipate St. Paddy's day almost as much as Christmas. They LOVE this little tradition.

Those little stinkers painted the kids faces! They went to school looking like this - and thought they were SuPEr CoOL of course.

Cole always leaves a trap for them. They seem to outwit him everytime. This time, they sucked the popsicle juice right from the wrapper!!
I drank some of the punch shown below. Apparently its only for kids. I started to get all itchy and hot and when I took my socks off..... LOOK WHAT HAPPENED!

They left this trail of rainbow yarn too. It led to little tiny pots of gold (rolos).

They found their surprise in the OVEN of all places ;)
Made rainbow cupcakes for our little preschool Paddy's day party.

Disney on Ice

For Ariah's Birthday, we gave her Disney on Ice tickets for the family. It was perfect since the show was the day after her birthday. We haven't been for a few years, so it was so much fun to see it. It helped the seats were semi-good too.

OH PS - on the way out we found a nice little ticket on our car!!! For expired registration!! It expired end of February, and this was March 9! What ever happened to a 30 day grace period - apparently SLC parking ticketers don't know about those kinds of things - and to top it off, the stickers were waiting in the mail (that I hadn't checked yet that day) when we got home.
It's like 10,000 spoons when all you need is a knife :(
